INDIANAPOLIS – Drury University freshman outfielder Payton Reed and Maryville University sophomore slinger Eric Keling have been named the final Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the 2013 season, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
 
Reed hit .500 (14-for-28) for the week with an. 857 slugging percentage, while tallying 14 hits, 16 RBIs, four doubles, four runs scored, a pair of homers, and three walks in 28 at bats at the Panthers’ designated hitter slot. He also boasted a .548 on-base percentage for the week.  Reed shined to start and end the week as he went 4-for-6 with a double, two homers, and seven RBI against Rockhurst, while he finished a combined 6-for-14 with four RBI against William Jewell.  He leads Drury on the season with a .465 on-base percentage and 17 doubles, ranks second with a .553 slugging clip, and is tied for third with 36 RBI.
 
This is the first weekly honor for the Springfield, Mo., native and first GLVC Player of the Week honor for a Panther since Caleb Cole on April 8, 2013.
