INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference recently named Bellarmine University senior golfer Bryan Ratterman and University of Missouri-St. Louis freshman Tayler Hoag as the GLVC Players of the Month for April, following a vote from the league’s men’s and women’s golf coaches.

Ratterman competed in three events last month and averaged 72.3 over seven rounds, while Hoag netted an average of 74.0 during three events and six rounds.

In April, Ratterman—who was named GLVC Player of the Year earlier this month—secured a runner-up finish at “The Jewell” (68-73—141), fired a 148 (77-71) at the second Midwest Region Spring Invitational at Purgatory in Noblesville, Ind., and then finished third individually at the GLVC Championship.  The Louisville, Ky., native also fired a 1-under 71 in the first round of the GLVC Championship medal-match play, which did not count toward his monthly average.  As a team, the Knights posted a record of 55-9-2 in April with runner-up finishes at the GLVC Championship and The Jewell.

Hoag opened the month with an impressive 3-under 69 at the Maryville Invitational and responded with a final round 76 to capture the event title.  She then captured third at the Tritons’ own tournament with a 156 (81-75), and placed second at the GLVC Championships with a 148 (72-76).  The Eden Prairie, Minn., native posted the lowest stroke average of any GLVC golfer in the spring season, and helped lead her team to first, second, and third-place finishes in April.
