INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named Truman State University junior outside hitter Allie Brak and Rockhurst senior libero Victoria Mahl as its Baden Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Mahl was tabbed as the league’s top defender after guiding the Hawks to a perfect 4-0 record at the Pittsburg State Classic this past week.  Rockhurst recorded 3-0 victories over Missouri Western and Southeastern Oklahoma on Friday, followed by sweeps over Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern on Saturday.  The St. Louis, Mo., native led the Hawks with 51 digs on the week, averaging 4.25 scoops per set.  She totaled 15, 12, 13, and 11 digs over the course of the weekend, and added three service aces while not committing a reception error over the 12 sets in four matches. The Hawks finished with a 4-0 record at the Pittsburg State (Kan.) Classic.  This is Mahl’s third GLVC Baden Defensive Player of the Week honoree of her career as she was also honored last season on both Oct. 15 and Nov. 5.
