INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named Truman State University junior outside hitter Allie Brak and Rockhurst senior libero Victoria Mahl as its Baden Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Brak is the first Truman volleyball standout to be honored by the GLVC as the Bulldogs are in their first season as a full-time member of the conference. This past week at the GVSU Grand Rapids Classic, Brak helped No. 16 Truman to a 3-1 record with the lone loss coming at the hands of sixth-ranked Southwest Minnesota State. A native of The Colony, Texas, Brak started all four matches and averaged 4.19 kills and 1.69 digs per set, while serving up seven total aces. She averaged at least 4.00 kills per set in every match but the five-setter win against Adelphi, where she totaled 17 kills in the five sets. She also posted 10 digs in the match, which gave her the 30th double-double of her career. Additionally, she recorded her third career 20-plus kill match against Saint Leo in a five-set thriller prior to helping the Bulldogs blank Edkerd (Fla.), 3-0.
