University of Indianapolis senior Sutton Knapp has been selected by the league coaches as the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week for the 2013 women's cross country season, it was announced Tuesday.

Knapp opened her final season at the Queen City Invitational with a 5,000-meter time of 18 minutes, 9 seconds, which marked her personal best pace.  The Indianapolis, Ind., native finished seventh overall in the mixed field while helping the Greyhounds to first place in the collegiate division, as well as a third-place result among all divisions.

The weekly honor is the first of Knapp's career, and is the first for a Greyhound runner since Stephanie Cave was recognized by the league on Oct. 4, 2011.

Next up for the Greyhounds is the Lucian Rosa Invitational this Saturday at UW-Parkside in Somers, Wis.
