INDIANAPOLIS – Rockhurst University senior forward Mark Magee and Lewis University senior goalkeeper Alec Pickett have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference men’s soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.
 
Pickett helped the Flyers to their best start since 2008, as he went 1-0-1 in GLVC contests last week. In a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Indianapolis on Friday, Pickett stopped seven shots to preserve the Flyers' unbeaten streak. On Sunday, he made two saves in a 1-0 victory over Saint Joseph's for his second shutout of the season. For the season, Pickett is 2-0-2 and is limiting opponents to 0.65 goals-per-game.  This is Pickett’s first Defensive Player of the Week honor of his career.
