INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University senior forward Jaclyn Mastroianni and University of Southern Indiana sophomore goalkeeper Jackie Lohmann have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference women’s soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Lohmann helped the Screaming Eagles to a pair of wins and a double-overtime scoreless tie in a 2-0-1 overall week and a 1-0-1 start to the GLVC schedule. The Owensboro, Ky., native played in 245 minutes and made 11 saves without allowing a goal in USI’s 4-0 win over Urbana on Monday, 1-0 victory against Illinois Springfield on Friday, and 0-0 draw at McKendree on Sunday. After stopping a pair of shots against UIS on Friday, Lohmann made a career-high nine saves in the double-overtime tie at McKendree. For the week, she had a 0.00 GAA with 2.5 shutouts. Lohmann, who is 3-0-1 for the year and has yet to allow a goal, is the first USI standout to earn a weekly conference award since Megan Kempf was named Player of the Week on Sept. 21, 2009.
