INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis’ Willie Little is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Male Track and Field Athlete of the Week. The junior field athlete placed fourth in the men’s hammer throw at the Gene-Rose Edmonds Invitational in Rensselaer, Ind. on Mar. 31.
Little posted a mark of 54.66 meters which was both a provisional qualifying throw for the NCAA Division II National Championships and among the top 12 throws in the GLVC this season.
His efforts helped the Greyhounds place third at the meet with a team score of 87. Saint Joseph’s College claimed the team title with a team score of 192.
UIndy will next compete at the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Ind. on Apr. 7.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Lewis’ Andy Tremble, SIU Edwardsville’s Brian Taghon and Southern Indiana’s Brandon Campbell.
