Burkle recorded a double-double in each of UMSL’s three contests this week. She racked up 47 kills, 32 digs, 10 block assists, and five serve aces for the Tritons. In UMSL’s 3-1 win against Illinois Springfield, she logged her fourth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 12 digs. Burkle topped her weekend best 21-kill mark in a 3-1 win over McKendree, while also adding 10 digs, and six blocks for an impressive .390 attack percentage. She duplicated her outing in a straight-set win against Maryville with 12 kills and 10 digs, including three block assists and an ace. The Marion, Iowa, native ended the week averaging 4.27 kills and 2.91 digs per set, while hitting .267. She leads the Tritons in seven statistical categories including points (4.40), kills (3.82), and serves aces (0.31). This week’s award is the first for Burkle and the first for a Triton since Weslie Gaff won the award on Oct. 11, 2012.
