University of Indianapolis senior defensive end Vince Maida, Quincy University senior wide receiver Justin Dickens, and Saint Joseph’s College redshirt freshman punter Marcin Gawlak have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday.  Dickens was named Offensive Player of the Week, Maida was picked as Defensive Player of the Week, while Gawlak was selected as Special Teams Player of the Week.

Dickens caught seven passes for a career-high 190 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 36-7 win over visiting Lindenwood-Belleville. His three touchdowns matched a school record set three times previously, including once last year by himself.  On Saturday, he hauled in touchdown passes of 52, 86 and eight yards – the 86-yarder ranking as the second-longest pass play in the GLVC this season.  His 190 receiving yards ranks third on QU's all-time single game list.  The Suwanee, Ga., native ranks fourth in QU history in receptions (128), fifth in yards (1,784) and is the school's all-time leader in receiving touchdowns (26).  Dickens earns his first career weekly award from the conference and is the first Hawk to be recognized since linebacker Zach Vath was honored Oct. 15 as Defensive Player of the Week.
