Quincy University freshman defender Xhovani Dokaj and Rockhurst University senior defender George Skevington have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference men’s soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Skevington is the third Rockhurst honoree to be recognized by the league in as many weeks as Mark Magee earned the past two Offensive Player of the Week awards.  The Leawood, Kan., native showed a little offensive flair himself last week, posting three points on three assists in two conference games, while helping the Hawks collect a pair of shutouts. He had an assist in a 2-0 win over Southern Indiana and added two assists in a 4-0 victory over Illinois Springfield. Skevington combined for four shots and one shot on goal, while anchoring a defense that earned its fourth and fifth shutout of the season.  The weekly honor is the first of Skevington’s career.
