INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis junior diver Tyler Offutt and senior sprinter Julia Madeira have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Tuesday following a vote from the conference's head coaches.

At last weekend's double dual at Asbury University, which also featured GLVC foe Bellarmine, Offutt recorded an early "A" cut with a 291.15-point effort in the one-meter springboard.  The Evansville, Ind., native was a two-time GLIAC Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week last season before placing 14th at the 2013 NCAA Championships, good for All-American Honorable Mention honors.

On the women's side, Madeira posted a pair of "B" cuts at the event.  The sprinter won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 24.13 and 52.68, respectively.  The Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, native is a seven-time All-American as a member of the Greyhounds' 200, 400, and 800 freestyle relays teams.

After taking a break from competition this weekend, UIndy heads to West Lafayette, Ind., for the annual Indiana Intercollegiate meet Oct. 26, hosted this year by Purdue University.
