University of Indianapolis redshirt-sophomore quarterback Connor Barthel, Missouri S&T senior linebacker Chris Horn, and Truman State University junior punter Jacob Lamp have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday.  Barthel was named Offensive Player of the Week, Horn was picked as Defensive Player of the Week, while Lamp was selected as Special Teams Player of the Week.

Horn recorded 12 tackles, including four solo stops an assisted tackles for a loss, in the Miners' 14-13 win over GLVC co-leader Saint Joseph's on Saturday.  The Tulsa, Okla., native led the Miners in tackles as S&T held the Pumas to 168 yards rushing -- nearly 100 below its seasonal average that ranked 16th-best in NCAA Division II.  The Horn-led Miners also limited Saint Joseph's to 279 yards of total offense, well off its average of 482.3 yards per game, which ranked 24th in the nation entering the weekend.  After Saint Joseph's scored on its opening play of the game on a 62-yard run, the Pumas had only 106 yards on the ground for the rest of the afternoon.  This is Horn's second GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honor as he was also the last Miner to earn the award on Oct. 29, 2012.
