Maryville University senior defender Sam Kruse and University of Indianapolis redshirt-junior goalkeeper Megan Fee have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Fee tallied a pair of clean-sheet victories on the weekend, running her shutout total to six on the year after 1-0 blankings of Missouri S&T and Drury. The Spring Hill, Tenn., native made a total of 15 saves on the weekend in 195 minutes of work, including 12 stops in a double-overtime thriller against Drury on Sunday after posting three blocks against the Lady Miners. Her goals-against-average on the weekend was 0.00, improving her GAA for the year to 0.88, which is seventh-best in the league. She is currently second in the GLVC in total saves (89), and fourth in saves per game (6.36). This is Fee's first weekly honor of her career and it's the first accolade for a UIndy soccer player since Shae Morris on Oct. 4, 2010.
