University of Indianapolis junior Alex Cushman and University of Southern Indiana senior Erika Wilson have been selected as the season's final Great Lakes Valley Conference Runners of the Week for men's and women's cross country, respectively, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Cushman finished first out of 416 competitors last weekend at the Wilmington College Fall Classic in Wilmington, Ohio, crossing the tape with an 8,000-meter time of 24 minutes, 58.69 seconds.  The Fort Wayne, Ind., native's finish helped the Greyhounds to a second-place result in the 36-team field.

For his efforts last week, Cushman was also named Monday as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association's Division II Men's National Runner of the Week.  The award marks the first time in school history that a UIndy competitor has garnered national runner of the week accolades.  This is also the first time a UIndy male runner has ever been recognized with a weekly award from the conference.
