Quincy University junior midfielder Ethan Venvertloh and Lewis University senior goalkeeper Alec Pickett have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference men's soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Pickett recorded his seventh and eighth shutouts of the season in victories over both Missouri S&T and Drury this past week.  In a 1-0 blanking of Missouri S&T, the Mokena, Ill., native stopped two shots in the full 90 minutes, and then responded with four blocks in 90 minutes in a 2-0 road victory at Drury.  This is the third Defensive Player of the Week honor for Pickett this season as he was also recognized by the conference on Sept. 16th and 23rd.
