Indianapolis, Ind. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Sierra Ellis (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Notre Dame) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The junior forward posted a goal in each of the Riverwomen’s two wins on the week.
In Missouri-St. Louis’ 1-0 win at Rockhurst on Sept. 29, Ellis scored the game-winner in the 51st minute of the contest. She drilled her second goal of the season into the right corner from 12 yards out. The goal came on her only shot of the match.
She recorded her second goal of the week in the Riverwomen’s 3-0 win at Drury on Oct. 1. Ellis added an insurance goal for her team by scoring from two yards out in the 75th minute.
Ellis has now posted three goals and an assist on the year for a total of seven points. She is second on the team in shot percentage (.231) and the game-winning goal against Rockhurst was her first of the season.
Missouri-St. Louis is now 7-5-1 overall and 4-4-0 in the GLVC. The Riverwomen have reeled off four straight victories.
They will next travel to the University of Missouri-Rolla on Oct. 4.
