Lewis University freshmen Victor Tarin and Shannon Sullivan have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Tuesday following a vote from the conference's head coaches.

In the Flyers' 117-87 season-opening win over Hillsdale, Sullivan established a new Lewis pool record in the 100-yard freestyle (53.22), besting the previous standard of 54.22.  The Elmhurst, Ill., native also finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.62) and anchored the Lewis first-place 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 52.57 against Hillsdale.
