Missouri S&T junior Ethan Goldfarb and Lewis University freshman Kara Treacy have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Tuesday following a vote from the conference's head coaches.

Goldfarb finished among the top three in three events Saturday in a double dual meet with Lindenwood and Saint Louis University, including a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke in which he won the race by more than three seconds.  He posted a time of 2:04.97 to win the 200-breaststroke and also had times of 1:55.84 in the 200-yard individual medley and 4:41.89 in in the 500-yard freestyle to finish third in those two events.  This is the first weekly honor for the Arlington, Texas, native and the first for a Miner since sophomore Aljaz Kerc won the inaugural men's award last month on Oct. 7.
