INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University sophomore Montana Clasby has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office Tuesday following a vote from the conference's head coaches.
Clasby led a host of Flyers with impressive performances at the House of Champions meet in Indianapolis, an event hosted by Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). She earned three NCAA B Cut times at the event, including wins in the 100-yard Breaststroke (1:04.59) and 200 Breaststroke (2:19.13). The Cedar Falls, Iowa, native recorded the national mark by taking third in the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:07.50).
This is Clasby's first weekly award from the conference office and the second consecutive for the Flyers as Shannon Sullivan was honored last week.
Lewis returns to action on Dec. 7 when the Flyers head to Kirksville, Mo., to take on Truman State. The dual meet is set to start at 11 a.m. CT.
