INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.The University of Missouri-Rolla’s Emily Tucker (St. Louis, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Playerof the Week.

 

Tucker, a sophomore rightfielder for the Miners, helped extend her club’s winning streak to eight games by guiding them to four wins last week.

 

She finished the week 10-for-15 (.667) with nine RBIs, four runs scored, three doubles and a home run.

 

Tucker was 5-for-9 in UMR’s sweep of Lincoln on Apr. 10. She drove in three, scored twice and collected two doubles on the day.

 

She continued her hot hitting at Bellarmine on Apr. 15 by going 5-for-8 on the day. She was 2-for-3 with four RBIs, a double and home run in the Miners’ 7-4 opening win. Tucker returned in the nightcap to post a 3-for-5 effort at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored.

 

She is hitting .406 on the year with 28 runs, 24 RBIs, 13 doubles and two home runs. Missouri-Rolla (23-10) vaulted into third place in the GLVC at 11-5 after last week’s action.

 

Other top performances in the GLVC last week included Kentucky Wesleyan’s Kaley Wethington, Lewis’ Kelly Dianis, Northern Kentucky’s Jenny Weis, Quincy’s Mary Wiedman, Rockhurst’s Kristen Benes, SIU Edwardsville’s Jodie Ohlau and Southern Indiana’s Ally McKinley.
