Lewis University junior Cindy Jezuit has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the conference office today.
Jezuit reached the podium seven times in consecutive Flyer victories over William Jewell this past Monday and Tuesday.
The Wheaton, Ill., naitve won the 50-yard freestyle each day, posting a first day time of 24.94 and a time of 25.16 on Tuesday. She was also a member of the first-place 200-yard medley relay (1:52.84) team on Monday and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:42.05) team on Tuesday.
The sprint specialist took second in the 100-yard freestyle in both meets. On Monday, she turned in a time of 55.90 before touching the wall at 56.45 on Tuesday. Jezuit also took second in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.67) on Tuesday, swimming in the event for the first time in five years.
The weekly nod is the first of Jezuit's career and the fifth for a Lewis swimmer this season. Montana Clasby was the most recent honoree on Nov. 26.
