INDIANAPOLIS – Drury University senior center Amber Dvorak has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Dvorak helped the No. 6 Lady Panthers to a pair of victories and improve to 9-0 this past week after averaging 18.5 points on 64 percent shooting, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks in 24.0 minutes of play. 
 
The Hinckley, Minn., native led Drury to a sweep at the South Point Holiday Classic in Las Vegas, Nev., with19 points and nine rebounds in the Lady Panthers’ 69-61 victory over Western Washington last Thursday.  Dvorak then followed up on Friday by pouring in 18 points in a 76-75 victory over Montana State-Billings.  She finished the week 16-of-25 from the floor.

Adams, who is averaging a team-high 2.2 blocks per game on the season, notches her first career weekly honor from the conference and is the second Lady Panther to be recognized by the league this season since teammate Bethanie Funderburk earned the honor on Dec. 2.

Drury will return to action after the New Year with a pair of GLVC cross-division contests at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.  The Lady Panthers host Saint Joseph’s at 5:45 p.m. CT on Friday, Jan. 3, followed by a 1 p.m. matchup against Indianapolis on Sunday, Jan. 5.
