– Drury University senior guard Bethanie Funderburk has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday. 
 
In the Lady Panthers two road cross-division wins last week, Funderburk scored a season-high 23 points in Drury’s 82-75 victory over Bellarmine.  Against the Knights, she shot 7-for-10 (.700) from the field and connected on 8-of-9 (.889) from the free-throw line.  Forty-eight hours later, Funderburk shot 7-for-15 as the 10th ranked Lady Panthers edged Southern Indiana by a score of 91-89.  She corralled six rebounds and dished two assists to give Drury back-to-back wins.

The Nixa, Mo., native averaged 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.  She shot 56 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free-throw line after playing 34.0 minutes per contest.  This season, Funderburk is averaging 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists each time out.
 
The honor is Funderburk’s fourth of her career as she also won the award back on Dec. 2, 2013, as well as on Dec. 2, 2011, and Feb. 27, 2012.
 
The Lady Panthers return home to the O’Reilly Family Event Center to play Rockhurst on Thursday evening at 5:45 p.m. CT.
