INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Rockhurst University’s Ryan Morgan (St. Louis, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Morgan, a sophomore right-handed starter for the Hawks, helped lead his team to a 2-1 win over the University of Southern Indiana in the series opener on April 21.
He pitched seven innings and surrendered just one hit and one unearned run to allow his team to win the game in extra innings.
Morgan struck out 11 Eagles’ hitters in the victory and walked four. He struck out seven straight hitters during a stretch in the first three innings.
On the year, Morgan is 2-3 with a 1.79 earned run average and has struck out 64 hitters in 65.1 innings pitched.
Rockhurst is 21-21 overall this season and 14-14 in the league.
