INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.Saint Joseph’s College’s Mike Pericht (Orland Park, Ill.) and is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.

 

Pericht, a freshman catcher for the Pumas, guided Saint Joseph’s to a 6-1 record last week. He hit .588, drove in eight runs and collected six doubles, a triple and home run in five games, all Saint Joseph’s wins.

 

He drove in five runs and scored four times in the Pumas’ 18-9 win over Lewis before going 5-for-10 in the Pumas’ sweep of Missouri-Rolla over the weekend.

 

Pericht delivered a 4-for-5 day at the plate in the series finale against the Miners on April 22. He came within a single short of hitting for the cycle and collected three RBIs and three runs while belting two doubles, a single and home run in the 18-11 win.

 

On the year, Pericht is hitting .254 with seven doubles, 12 runs and 11 RBIs. Saint Joseph’s has won nine of its last ten games to move to 24-16 overall and 17-12 in the GLVC.

  

Other top performances in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Ben White, Drury’s Justin Skinner, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Neil Holmes, Northern Kentucky’s Jake Shaffer, Quincy’s Scott Hauber, Rockhurst’s Tyler Knust, SIU Edwardsville’s Daniel Thompson, Southern Indiana’s Darin Mastroianni and UIndy’s Kyle Stephenson.
