INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University junior guard Lucy Cramsey has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league on Monday.

Cramsey finished the week averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in No. 15 Quincy’s two division wins at Pepsi Arena.   On Thursday, Cramsey registered 15 points, six assists, and four rebounds in the Lady Hawks’ 82-79 upset victory over No. 7 Drury.  She shot 53 percent (7-of-13) from the field and 50 percent (1-of-3) from beyond the arc en route to her 14th double-digit scoring effort of the season.  With the win, Quincy claimed sole possession of first place in the West Division.

Cramsey returned Saturday for a meeting with Missouri S&T where she led the Lady Hawks offense.  As a team, Quincy shot 51 percent (31-for-61), was 8-of-19 from beyond the arc, and made 80 percent (16-for-20) of its free throws.  The Lady Hawks outrebounded the Miners by a 42-to-31 margin.  In the win, Cramsey finished with a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds.  She topped off her outing by adding three steals and one block in 22 minutes of action.  She also shot 80 percent from the free-throw line to extend the Hawks home court win streak to 11 games.

The Liberty, Ill., native leads the Hawks in points (12.8) and rebounds (7.3), and is shooting 47.2 percent from the field.  The 5’8 guard ranks seventh in the league with 139 rebounds corralled.

The honor is Cramsey’s second of her career as she also won the award on Jan. 14, 2013, which was also the last time a Lady Hawk was honored by the conference.

Quincy (17-2, 10-1 GLVC) hosts Bellarmine on Thursday, Feb. 5 in a 5:15 p.m. CT tip-off.
