Bellarmine University senior distance runner Robert Sandlin, Jr., and Lewis University sophomore thrower Adam Barr have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, it was announced on Wednesday.

Sandlin finished sixth in the Meyo Mile at Notre Dame last week in a school-record time of 4 minutes, 1.20 seconds.  The NCAA Automatic qualifying standard ranks him third in NCAA Division II this season and is also the fastest unconverted mile time in Division II this year.  The time ranks 24th among all collegiate divisions this season.

The Frankfort, Ky., native earns his fourth weekly honor of his indoor career as he was also recognized on Jan. 22, 2013, as well as Jan. 16 and Feb. 13, 2013.

Barr finished runner-up as the first collegian in the weight throw at the UIndy Relays over the weekend.  His NCAA Provisional toss of 18.07 meters (59'-3.5") in the weight throw was just off his season's personal best.  This was the fifth straight meet Barr recorded an NCAA provisional mark, as he is currently first in the GLVC and 12th overall in NCAA Division II.

The Oak Forest, Ill., native garners the second weekly honor of his career, having also been recognized on Jan. 15, 2014.
