Drury University senior center Amber Dvorak has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday.

The Hinckley, Minn., native averaged 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, as the Lady Panthers moved to 21-2 (13-2 GLVC) on the season with wins against East division foes UW-Parkside and No. 16 Lewis last weekend.  Dvorak opened the week against UW-Parkside with her first double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds, of which eight were on the offensive end.  She also tacked on one block in 16 minutes of court time as the Lady Panthers defeated the Rangers, 77-56.

Dvorak continued her dominant play against the Flyers on Saturday, connecting on 7-of-14 (.500) from the field en route to 16 points and two rebounds in 16 minutes.  She also went 2-of-2 from the free throw line to improve her season free-throw clip to 75 percent (66-of-88).  Her efforts helped Drury hold Lewis to a season-low 29 percent (20-of-69) field-goal shooting for the game.

Dvorak, who is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game on the season, notches her second career weekly honor from the conference as she also won the award on Dec. 23, 2013.

The Lady Panthers return to the floor this Thursday and Saturday to face William Jewell (5:30 p.m. CDT) and Rockhurst (1 p.m.), respectively.
