Indianapolis, Ind. – The University of Missouri-Rolla’s Joffroi Holcombe (Alexandria, La./Holy Savior Menard) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. The junior distance-runner finished sixth overall at the Bob Timmons Invitational hosted by the University of Kansas on Sept. 2.
Holcombe’s effort enabled the Miners to post a second-place team finish in the nine-team event. He posted a time of 26:29.87 on the 8K course and was the top non-division I runner. Holcombe’s time was 41 seconds faster than he ran the course in 2005.
Missouri-Rolla finished the meet with a team score of 68. The Miners defeated Kansas State, Oral Roberts and the University of Missouri-Kansas City among others at the meet.
