INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University senior guard Vance Hall has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday.
Hall led Bellarmine to a pair of important road wins last week as the Knights fight for GLVC seeding and an NCAA Midwest Regional ranking. On Thursday, Hall poured in a team-high 19 points while dishing out seven assists in Bellarmine's 106-63 victory over Saint Joseph's. The senior point guard also came up with a steal and committed only one turnover. In Saturday's game, he was a steady leader while helping direct to Bellarmine to a 96-81 road upset of No. 4 Indianapolis. The senior point guard nearly copied his stat line from Thursday's game, with one less point and one more assist. Hall totaled 18 points, eight assists and again had just one turnover while also getting an assist.
For the week, Hall averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds while shooting 68.8 percent from the field, including going 6-of-7 from the 3-point line.
Hall collects the second GLVC Player of the Week honor of his career, having won the award back on Nov. 19, 2012. He becomes the third Knight to earn the accolade this year with Jake Thelen winning for the week of Dec. 16 and Keisten Jones for the week of Dec. 2.
Bellarmine (20-5, 12-5 GLVC) hits the road for its final regular season game this week, traveling to Southern Indiana on Thursday.
