INDIANAPOLIS – Drury freshman Maximillian Hepp was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Hepp totaled two wins in both singles and doubles play over No. 20 Northwest Missouri State (5-1) and No. 51 Nebraska-Kearney (9-0), respectively.  The Panthers moved to 9-0 on the year behind Hepp’s play, as he scored victories over Northwest Missouri's Romain Boissinot (2-6, 7-5, 6-2) and Nebraska-Kearney’s Neto Cacace (6-4, 6-2).  The freshman leads the team with an 8-1 singles mark and 9-0 in doubles play, and has won eight of his last nine matches.
 
The Auenwald, Germany, native teamed with senior Lukas Kriem to collect two wins at No. 2 doubles against Northwest Missouri duo Julien Couronne and Alvaro Riveros (8-3) and Nebraska-Kearney’s Fletcher Sheridan and Justin Nguyen (8-3).
 
The honor is Hepp’s first of his career and first for Drury since Kriem won the award on April 9, 2013.
 
No. 27 Drury (9-0) will face No. 9 Columbus State on March 18 in Columbus, Ga., at 3 p.m.
