INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri-St. Louis sophomore Renee Verboven was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Verboven won a match at both No. 1 and 2 singles flight and notched two­­ wins at No. 1 doubles against Illinois Springfield and Southern Indiana, respectively.  She posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Illinois Springfield’s Megan Zumbahlen at No. 1 singles during the Tritons’ cross division 9-0 win over the Prairie Stars.  Verboven followed that performance at the No.2 singles position with a victory over Southern Indiana’s Elizabeth Wilm by score 6-1, 6-4.   
 
She also partnered with senior teammate Louisa Werner at No. 1 doubles against the Prairie Stars and scored an 8-1 win over Megan Zumbahlen and Faith Hook.  The duo followed that performance with an 8-2 victory over Southern Indiana’s Wilm and Brenna Wu.
 
The Waalre, Netherlands, native earns her second career weekly honor, as she won the award on April 2, 2013.
 
Missouri-St. Louis (5-1) begins a five-match homestand hosting Lewis on Friday.  Frist serve is at 2 p.m.
