INDIANAPOLIS - Missouri St. Louis’ junior left fielder Jena Boudreau and sophomore pitcher Hannah Perryman have been selected the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league on Monday.

In seven games, Boudreau recorded 13 hits, added 11 RBIs, and scored nine runs of which six of those hits were for extra base.  She also smashed three homeruns, after batting .481 (13-for-27) at the plate to help Missouri-St. Louis to an 8-0 record including 6-0 in league games last week.  Against McKendree, Boudreau went 5-for-8 with a homerun, collected four RBIs, and four runs scored in the doubleheader.  She followed her performance at home in Missouri-St. Louis’ sweep of Quincy going 4-for-8.  In the nightcap, Boudreau went 3-for-4 at the plate with six RBIs, recording two doubles, and a homerun in that game.  She drove in the Tritons’ first six runs with two two-run doubles and a two-run homerun.  The Bolingbrook, Ill., native finished the week hitless in the UMSL’s opener against Truman State, but she bounced back to go 3-for-5 in game two, recording another two doubles and one homerun in the contest.

The 2013 Second Team All-GLVC honoree posted a 1.037 slugging and .517 on base percentage, and leads the Tritons in runs scored (17) and doubles (8), and is second in home runs (5).

Perryman posted a 5-0 record in 26.1 innings twirled in Missouri-St. Louis’ perfect outing against Upper Iowa, McKendree, Quincy, and Truman State, respectively.  In the circle, Perryman allowed just two earned runs and struck out 50 batters to finish with a 0.54 ERA.  With the wins, she improved to 8-2-1, and is responsible for four league wins for the Tritons.  Against Upper Iowa, she struck out a season-high 16 batters, while allowing just two hits in 6.2 scoreless innings pitched, falling two shy of her career-best (18).  Perryman retired the first nine batters she faced, including eight by way of strikeout.  At McKendree she only worked 4.2 innings, allowed four runs, of which one was earned, while striking out eight.  On Saturday, Perryman tossed a complete game victory over Quincy, striking out 13, and limited the Hawks to just two hits.  She ended the week, winning both games against Truman State, which entered the meeting on a 16-game win streak and a 10-0 GLVC mark.  In game one, Perryman threw a complete game five-hitter, allowing the Bulldogs lone run unearned, during which she struck out 11 batters.  The reigning GLVC Pitcher of the Year took over the circle in the second game to reap the win in 1.2 innings of relief without allowing a baserunner.

The Streamwood, Ill., native leads Missouri-St. Louis in strikeouts (101), appearances (12), and innings pitched (59.1), while in league play she ranks No. 5 in strikeouts looking (22).

The honor is Boudreau’s first of her career, and the second of the season and seventh weekly career award for Perryman, as she was recognized by the league on Feb. 14.
