University of Indianapolis redshirt sophomore catcher Alex Ritchie and William Jewell College junior pitcher Preston Felgate have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday.

Felgate tossed 10 innings of one-hit ball in the Cardinals’ 12-inning 1-0 shutout of GLVC East Division leader Southern Indiana on Saturday.  The Lenexa, Kan., native struck out six batters and walked only three, while dropping his earned run average to 1.42 on the season.

This is Felgate’s first weekly honor and the first for a Jewell pitcher since David Collins was honored on March 18, 2013.
