INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis senior golfer Jenny Konop has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Player of the Month for March, following a vote from the league's head coaches.

Konop earned top-10 finishes in all three events this past month, including a first-place tie in her second tournament, the Perry Park Spring Fling.  Over the three outings, Konop carded a monthly average of 76.16 and a head-to-head record of 220-10-6 against other GLVC competitors.

The Green Bay, Wis., native opened the spring at the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, Calif., March 13-14, by tying for fourth in the 54-player field at 153 (79-74).  Her effort helped the Greyhounds place second in the event that included six teams ranked in the top 30 nationally.

At the Perry Park Spring Fling, held March 22-23 in Perry Park, Ky., Konop scored a 54-hole total of 135 (78-71-76), highlighted by a second-round 71.  She tied with two other players for medalist honors and guided UIndy to another runner-up finish.

This past week at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville, Ky., her lone round of 79 put the Greyhounds in first place for the event, while she tied for eighth individually in the field of 48 players.

Konop, last year's GLVC Player of the Year, earns the third monthly award of her career as she was also named GLVC's Player of the Month for September and October during the 2013 fall season.
