INDIANAPOLIS – University of Southern Indiana sophomore outfielder Kyle Kempf and University of Missouri-St. Louis sophomore pitcher Alan Frank have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Frank scored two wins on the mound in nine innings of work, posting a perfect 0.00 earned run average.  The Triton hurler held opponents from Maryville and William Jewell to a combined batting average of .071 in those two outings, while striking out six and allowing just two hits.  The highlight of the week came last Tuesday when the Scottsdale, Ariz., native tossed a complete game one-hit shutout against Maryville in UMSL's 7-1 victory.

This is Frank's first career weekly award and the first for an UMSL pitcher since Kyle Renaud was honored on April 22, 2013.
