INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Quincy University’s Missy Weaver (St. Louis, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Weaver posted a .667 batting average and collected six RBIs in four games last week.
She was 5-for-8 in Quincy’s doubleheader at UW-Parkside on April 28 with two RBIs. Weaver posted a 3-for-4 effort at the plate in the nightcap with one run scored leading the Hawks to a 6-1 win.
Quincy claimed the series-opener at Lewis on April 29 with an 8-1 decision. Weaver was a perfect 4-for-4 in the win with two home runs, four RBIs and two runs scored. She was 1-for-3 in Quincy’s 3-0 loss in the nightcap.
On the year, Weaver is hitting .325 with 20 RBIs and six home runs. She has helped lead the Hawks (26-20) to a 14-10 conference record and No. 4 seed in the upcoming GLVC Tournament.
Other top performances in the GLVC last week included Kentucky Wesleyan’s Ale’ Alvarado, Missouri-Rolla’s Ashley Winter, SIU Edwardsville’s Nicole Beecher and UW-Parkside’s Michelle Racine.
