Drury University junior first baseman Luke Tewes and senior pitcher Will Landsheft have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.

Landsheft, a right-hander from Bixby, Okla., also helped Tewes and the Panthers to four wins in six games last week as Drury improved to 24-9 overall and 16-4 in the league.

Landsheft went the distance for a second straight start and registered the program’s second no-hitter in DU's 4-0 victory over William Jewell last Friday at Meador Park.  He struck out 10 and walked one while improving to 5-2 on the season and pushing his Drury school record for career victories to 20 (20-5) with the seven-inning effort. It also helped the Panthers post their school-record 18th consecutive victory. The Panthers had the streak snapped with a pair of losses on Saturday to William Jewell to complete the week with a 4-2 mark.

This is the first GLVC Pitcher of the Week honor for Landsheft, who is also Drury's career leader in strikeouts (287) and complete games (7).
