Drury University junior first baseman Luke Tewes and senior pitcher Will Landsheft have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.
Tewes, a transfer this season from Iowa Western CC, went 9-for-17 (.529) at the plate with three homers and 11 RBIs in five games last week. He homered twice and drove in six in Drury's 22-11 victory over Fort Hays State in non-conference play on Wednesday at Meador Park, and then registered a pair of multi-hit outings, including a double and a homer, to go along with five RBI in a GLVC series split against William Jewell.
The Lincoln, Neb., native picks up his second GLVC Player of the Week award of the season, after he and DU pitcher Trevor Richards were named the weekly winners on March 11, which represented the first time that DU had swept the conference awards.
