Strickland led the Greyhound defense with 10 total tackles Saturday in UIndy’s 24-10 in-region road victory at Saginaw Valley State. His efforts helped limit the host Cardinals to just 273 total yards and 10 points on the night. After scoring the game’s first points with an early second-quarter TD, SVSU mustered just three points in the game’s final 42 minutes of play. Strickland made one of two Greyhound interceptions on the night when he stepped in front of a SVSU pass midway through the fourth quarter for his first pick of the season and third of career. This is the Fishers, Ind., native’s second career weekly honor as he was also selected on Nov. 12, 2012. He is the first Greyhound defender to win the award since Todd Hacker earned last year’s final defensive honor on Nov. 18.
