INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Quincy University’s Nick Dunning (Trenton, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Dunning helped Quincy to a pair of wins over the weekend as the Hawks took two of three over visiting Saint Joseph’s College.
He threw one inning in Quincy’s 6-4 win in game one on Saturday and collected the decision. He did not allow a run or hit and struck out one in the appearance.
Dunning returned in the second game to toss a complete game two-hitter as the Hawks picked up another win, 3-1. He again received the decision and threw seven innings, allowed one unearned run and struck out seven.
In Quincy’s 5-2 loss to Saint Joseph’s on Sunday, Dunning threw three innings and allowed four hits, one earned run and struck out six.
For the week, he was 2-0 with a 0.82 earned run average and struck out 14. This season Dunning has posted an 8-6 record with a 3.08 earned run average.
Quincy (30-20) has won 10 of its past 12 games and is currently in seventh place in the GLVC standings with a 21-16 record.
