?Truman State University junior midfielder Alexis Heffernan and Drury University freshman goalkeeper Tina Haberberger have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in women’s soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Haberberger earns her first career award and the first for a Drury defender since Kelsey Vaught was recognized on Oct. 28, 2013. The St. Louis, Mo., native recorded a pair of wins and a tie on the week, including shutouts against Harding on Tuesday and a double-overtime blanking of No. 16 UW-Parkside on Sunday. She faced a total of 50 shots on the week, stopping 21 of those shots on goal for a .955 save percentage in 290 minutes played. Following the 2-0 shutout against Harding on Tuesday, Haberberger allowed just one goal in a 2-1 victory at Lewis while making eight saves. At Parkside on Sunday, Haberberger went all 110 minutes, making 12 saves on 29 shots she faced, to help Drury finish with a 1-0-1 league record and a 3-0-1 mark overall.
