INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University sophomore defender Xhovani Dokaj and Rockhurst University senior goalkeeper Stefano Radio have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in men’s soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Radio posted two shutout wins at Saint Joseph’s and Indianapolis last week. He made two saves in the 2-0 decision at Saint Joseph’s to open the GLVC slate on Friday, and then responded with five saves in a 1-0 overtime win at Indianapolis – the preseason favorite to win the conference championship. The Rome, Italy, native finished with seven saves for the week, while lowering his goals against average to 0.31 for the season. This is the first weekly honor of Radio’s career and the first for a Rockhurst defender since George Skevington on Sept. 30, 2013.
