INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis sophomore linebacker Rob Dury, Lincoln University senior running back Morris Henderson, and Saint Joseph’s College redshirt sophomore kicker Marcin Gawlak have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Henderson was tabbed GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, Dury was picked Defensive Player of the Week, while Gawlak was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Henderson broke two Lincoln records and one GLVC mark with a six-touchdown performance in the Blue Tigers’ 42-13 win over Quincy on Saturday, which earned Lincoln its first-ever GLVC victory. The Jacksonville, Florida, native accounted for all of Lincoln's scores, with his six touchdowns breaking the previous Lincoln single-game records of four, which was also the GLVC record set by Kentucky Wesleyan’s Jeff Ward against Lindenwood-Belleville on Oct. 13, 2012. The six touchdowns are the most in a single game by a Division II player this season. Henderson carried the ball 19 times for 145 yards, an average of 7.6 yards per carry, and did not lose any yards on any of his touches. He also added 22 yards on one kickoff return and 13 yards on two receptions for a total of 180 all-purpose yards. This is the first GLVC weekly honor for the Blue Tigers program.
