The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named Truman State’s senior outside hitter Allie Brak and junior middle hitter Ali Patterson as its Baden Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Brak and Patterson guided Truman State to a 3-0 record with wins against McKendree (3-1), No. 20 West Texas A&M (3-0), and Illinois Springfield (3-1) last week, which earned the Bulldogs co-leaders in the GLVC West Division standings.

Over the weekend, Brak averaged 4.10 kills and 3.00 digs per set, while hitting .303 for the Bulldogs during their three game road trip.  She opened play at the McKendree Classic with 15 kills, nine digs, and three blocks against the host Bearcats.   For the match, she hit .286 and dealt three service aces for a total of 20 points scored.  Then, later in the day against No. 20 West Texas A&M, she hit .312 with 12 kills, 11 digs, and tied her career-high with six blocks.  The Colony, Texas, native committed just two errors against the Lady Buffs that enter play averaging nearly 2.3 blocks per set.  Finally, Brak posted another double-double – the 49th of her career – with 14 kills and 10 digs in just three sets at Illinois Springfield.  She added a service ace and a block for 15.5 total points.  On the season, she is the team leader in kills/set at 3.47 and is hitting .242 with 2.47 digs and 0.44 blocks per set.  Currently, she ranks eighth all-time at Truman State in career kills (1,336) and fifth in the program in kills per set (3.43).  This week’s honor marks the third career recognition and first of the season for Brak; she earned the honor on Sept. 9, 2013 and Oct. 14, 2013.
