INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University sophomore defender Xhovani Dokaj and redshirt-senior goalkeeper Drew Duncan have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in men’s soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Duncan did not allow a goal in three wins this week, including a double-overtime thriller against McKendree, to total 289 minutes and 36 seconds of scoreless soccer. Duncan, who made six saves this past week, has not allowed a goal in the past 469 minutes and 36 seconds. The Florissant, Missouri, native has six clean sheets in seven games this season and holds a perfect 7-0 record. The first-time weekly honoree also made it a clean sweep of weekly awards for Quincy, which no other team has accomplished since the conference began recognizing offensive and defensive honors prior to the 2013 season.
