INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named Drury University junior outside hitter BJ Specht and Truman State University senior libero Abby Moser Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Specht guided Drury (8-3, 3-3 GLVC) to a 2-0 record with wins against league mates Rockhurst and William Jewell, respectively.  For the week she accrued 31 points, 30 kills, 27 digs, one assist, and one solo block in seven sets.  Against the Hawks, Specht had 18 kills and a .424 attack percentage with just four errors on 33 attacks to lead the Panthers to a 3-1 victory over then league West Division leader Rockhurst.  She followed that performance with 13 digs and 12 kills against the Cardinals.  Specht finished the week averaging 4.29 kills, 3.86 digs, 0.14 assists, 0.14 blocks, and 4.43 points per set.  The Shawnee, Kansas native garners her first weekly honor of her career and is the first Panther to be recognized by the Conference office since Kyrie Hopkins on Sept. 13, 2010.
