INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University’s Tristen Dye (Millersburg, Ohio) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior outside hitter averaged 3.8 kills and 3.2 digs per game to lead the Norse to a 4-0 start to their 2007 campaign.
Dye posted 12 kills, 11 digs and seven service aces in Northern Kentucky’s 3-1 win over North Dakota in the opener of the North Alabama Classic in Florence, Alabama on Aug. 24.
She was equally strong in Northern Kentucky’s five game upset of 9th-ranked North Alabama that evening. Dye finished the match with 11 kills, 17 digs and two aces in the victory.
The Norse topped Tusculum in three games on Aug. 25 and Dye was again a force with 18 kills, eight digs and a .484 hitting percentage.
She finished the weekend by leading the Norse to a three-game sweep of 8th-ranked Ashland. Dye posted 16 kills and 12 digs to guide her team.
Dye finished the weekend with 57 kills, 48 digs and 11 service aces and helped the Norse to their best start since the 2000 season.
Northern Kentucky will travel to the California University of Pennsylvania Tournament next weekend.
