INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named University of Southern Indiana junior Abbey Winter and University of Indianapolis senior Kimberly Trojan as its Baden Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Trojan racked up 47 digs in Indianapolis’ two victories over the weekend, good for a stellar 6.71 digs per set and was perfect in 32 attempts service receiving percentage (1.00). In the 3-1 win over UW-Parkside, the defense specialist totaled 27 digs and five assists. She followed that performance with 20 digs in the Greyhounds 3-0 win at Lewis, moving her streak of double-digit dig matches to 15. The senior standout is averaging a team best 5.10 digs per set and is currently ranked fourth in the GLVC. Trojan is the first Indianapolis defender to be honored by the league with a weekly award since Kenzie Bruggeman on Nov. 18, 2013.
